Happy NEW YEAR!!

Well it may not be a new calendar year, but it is a new school year! I am so excited to have you all in class. I don't know about you, but the summer went by really fast!

I just wanted to let you know a little bit about what you can find on this blog. I will be helping students to keep track on what assignments they have each night on here in case they forget their planner somewhere. I will try to post classroom information and pictures as well as email out things that are important. Finally, this is a great place for me to store links and handouts that I give so that you can find them again if you need them.

I hope you are as excited for the new year as I am.

In Christ,
Mrs. Peters

2/28 Junior High Winter Dance - Huge Success

With all the snow and snow days the students needed a little something to break the cabin fever.  I am happy to report that our dance Friday night was a big hit and the students were very excited not only to hang out with their friends, but also to try their dance moves from gym class out on a real dance floor.

We tried a few new things at the dance this year. We had homemade brownies and pop corn. A big shout out and thank you to Ms. Mayfield for popping all our popcorn and helping chaperone.

We also had a "photo booth" that we set up between our two 5th grade classrooms. Thank you Christine Castens for all of your help running the photo area and taking pictures! They turned out wonderful and you can tell the students had a blast. Students will also be receiving this week the photos they were in! Some students were a little camera shy and only got in on the large class photos. Other students really let their personalities shine and had a great time in front of the camera. Here is a link to all the pictures that we took:
Winter Dance Photo Album

Also a thank you to Carolyn Meyer for helping chaperone the first part of the dance. Thank you Ms. Graham for checking people in at the door. Last but not least, thank you Ms. Renzelmann for helping DJ once again!!

I want to thank all of the students who attend. It was a fun night! $1 from every students entrance fee will be donated to the 8th grade class project of raising money for an "Honor Flight".

Stay tuned for May when the Junior High has their annual Glow Dance!

Aria Guinevere Peters

Students/Parents,

I wanted to post and share with you the exciting news about my daughter. As many of you have already heard on Thursday, August 28th my daughter was born. She was 8 lbs 11 ounces, and 21 inches. She was given a clean bill of health and we were able to come home Saturday night.

She has been a joy and a blessing in our life, more than we ever could have expected. Her brothers could not possibly be more proud. Asher, our 2 year old, is constantly asking to hold her, even when she is screaming. He will just sit and hold her with the biggest smile on his face and give her lots of kisses. Jude, our 5 year old, loves to sing to her. I am pretty sure that the first words out of this girls mouth someday with be the song Jesus Loves Me, because Jude sings it to her about 10 times a day. They both love everything about her.

I also want to thank all the students, parents, and subs for being supportive as I enjoy the next few weeks on maternity leave getting to know my daughter. I miss the classroom, but I am very excited to get to know this little blessing God has so graciously given our family.

In Christ,
Mrs. Peters

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you to everyone that helped with prayers, supplies, donations, and time for Operation Christmas Child this year. It was an AMAZING turn out, and we were done and cleaned up by 5pm.  Our ending count for this year was 483 boxes!!!  That is a new all time record, and we had just enough shipping money to cover every box.  Thank you!
